Kansas City Chiefs Confirm Domestic Violence Claims Connected to Wide Receiver the Athlete
The Kansas City Chiefs issued a statement on Wednesday evening confirming they have knowledge of domestic violence allegations made public in online accounts by a former girlfriend of player Rashee Rice and were in communication with the NFL.
The organization did not mention Rice specifically in their announcement and stated they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.
Allegations Posted on Social Media
The woman, who also did not mention Rice directly, shared a series of photos on Instagram that appeared to show indicators of bodily harm. She did say the individual in question was the father of her children, and it is known she has two children with the football player, whom the team selected in the 2023 draft.

No official complaints were available in Overland Park, Kansas where the incident is said to have taken place.
Player's Prior Legal Issues
The receiver missed the first six games of this NFL campaign following an NFL suspension for his involvement in causing a crash on a Texas roadway that resulted in multiple people injured. Rice was sentenced a month of incarceration and five years’ probation after pleading guilty to felony charges.
On the field, Rice concluded the year with 53 catches for 571 yards and five touchdowns as the Kansas City finished 6-11 and missed the playoffs for the first occasion in a decade.
